Featuring:
Joaquin Phoenix as Johnny Cash
Reese Witherspoon as June Carter
Jonathon Rice as Roy Orbison
Tyler Hilton as Elvis Presley
Waylon Payne as Jerry Lee Lewis
Shooter Jennings as Waylon Jennings
To the tune of Cocaine Blues by Johnny Cash
Well, I"m a fan for the late Johnny Cash
So his movie grew on me like a rash
I knew right then I needed that soundtrack
So to the store I rushed and bought it off the rack
The human voice is quite a distinct thing
Something made plain when you go and sing
But when I pressed play I was taken aback
Joaquin sounds just like the Man In Black
He covers great songs like Ring of Fire
Cry Cry Cry (you know I ain"t no liar)
On Home of the Blues he"s a bit lacking
But Get Rhythm will have your toes-a-tapping
The classic Milk Cow Blues goes nicely
Care of Tyler H. as Elvis Presley
Next we have Waylon Payne as Jerry Lee
Playing some fine rock in the Lewis Boogie
Johnathon Rice covers Roy Orbison
You"re My Baby is performed well and then
Shooter Jennings plays his father Waylon
On I"m A Long Way From Home he"s right spot on
Of the duets between Joaquin and Reese
It Ain"t Me Babe they cover with ease
But on Jackson Reese just isn"t as strong
You"ll be damn tired of her accent afore too long
Good ol" Tyler H. is this album"s highlight
He really steals the show with That"s All Right
Surpassing Joaquin is no easy feat
Especially since I Walk The Line works a treat
Frivolity is my excuse for this rhyme
My massacre of this tune is a real crime
But for great rock"n"roll, please believe me
Grab Walk The Line and set your mind at ease
This was more of an experiment than anything. I"ll probably edit in a second, non-rhyming review at a later date, or someone else can feel free to do so. I"m" I"m so sorry.
