Digging: Yume Bitsu - Yume Bitsu |

I wasnt talking about this album Snox ya thick headed mushroom. This is one of the trendy ones now. At least as far as metal goes. Im talkin about the stuff that is more obscure even to the ever knowledgable sputnik database.
Digging: Bill Evans - Waltz for Debby

I still can't believe people are arguing about the wobble; so short and who cares? This album might get a few more spins out of me but as of right now I don't like this as much as any of their other albums.
Digging: Squarepusher - Ufabulum

not being a hipster douche myself, it's just annoying when hips invade my territory (huh). I disagree,
though, he & pitchfork establish trends - hipsters follow. Just take a look at once-unheard bands he
reviewed and yt vids with top comments like 'Fantano.' Not to say that's a cold-stone fact, but a
major portion of his work is dedicated to emerging bandwagons.
Digging: Georg Friedrich Haas - In Vain (Klangforum Wien/Sylvain Cambreling)
|
| |
More people are listening to it so why does it matter? Why do people feel the need to separate different kinds of music listeners?
|
| |
Gian you need to take a look at your own self if you dont like a band you dig getting popular. We need more good bands getting popular not staying obscure just for you. You talk about hipsters yet you're even worse.

kk, don't spend a lot of time floating around youtube.

It would be rare to find a band actively releasing music to stay obscure just to be obscure. Yeah I'd see why they'd do it - but chances are they'd be itching for some free publicity?

this thread is annoying and bad
|
| |
i don't mind bands i dig getting popular, you're getting the wrong picture. i just don't like hipster sub-culture & the way they operate. now you're going to say 'but you're acting like one of them,' no. there's a thin line between exclusive quality and hipsterin', take a look at it.

I was a hipster before it was cool
|
| |
he introduces the mainstream to bands that are unknown to them
not unknown bands
|
| |
hipster subculture is characterized by a particular motif, and revolves around similar patterns. Both fashion & music-wise. By introducing hips to different genres they'll manage to expand their contours and therefore will shit on bands that were once fun to see live. Have you seen alcest live?
|
| |
Gian you are literally acting exactly like a huge stereotypical hipster who doesnt know hes a hipster lol.
I can see a band not wanting to be the next Coldplay or Mumford and Sons popularity wise, but I think every band wants to at least get known a little bit underground.

was talkin from the audience's perspective.
|
| |
and his aoty was fucking death grips
|
| |
wtf no, I told you I hate hipsters. If I'm a hipster and not aware of it then it's really fucked up dude. lol, let's forget this discussion and focus on col, it's going nowhere.
