It sucks that he's gone but Cult of Luna is still Cult of Luna.

Anthony is a cool guy, he reviews great stuff once in' a while and seems to be a chill dude to hang out with (even tho claims being 'the internet busiest music nerd.) The only downside of his work is that it brings nasty popularity to kvlt stuff, nothing worse than hipsters digging a black metal tape for the sake of it (same goes with dickpitchforkmedia)

I watch all of Fantano's reviews, but I take them all with a grain of salt.

Gian that is an incredibly dumb thing to say.

90% of the time he just reviews the latest trendy album, so when he does review something a little more underground thats a good thing. Dont be hipster douche yourself.

I wasnt talking about this album Snox ya thick headed mushroom. This is one of the trendy ones now. At least as far as metal goes. Im talkin about the stuff that is more obscure even to the ever knowledgable sputnik database.

I still can't believe people are arguing about the wobble; so short and who cares? This album might get a few more spins out of me but as of right now I don't like this as much as any of their other albums.

not being a hipster douche myself, it's just annoying when hips invade my territory (huh). I disagree,
though, he & pitchfork establish trends - hipsters follow. Just take a look at once-unheard bands he
reviewed and yt vids with top comments like 'Fantano.' Not to say that's a cold-stone fact, but a
major portion of his work is dedicated to emerging bandwagons.

More people are listening to it so why does it matter? Why do people feel the need to separate different kinds of music listeners?

Gian you need to take a look at your own self if you dont like a band you dig getting popular. We need more good bands getting popular not staying obscure just for you. You talk about hipsters yet you're even worse.

He's a Youtube reviewer who runs a channel called TheNeedleDrop.

kk, don't spend a lot of time floating around youtube.

It would be rare to find a band actively releasing music to stay obscure just to be obscure. Yeah I'd see why they'd do it - but chances are they'd be itching for some free publicity?

i don't mind bands i dig getting popular, you're getting the wrong picture. i just don't like hipster sub-culture & the way they operate. now you're going to say 'but you're acting like one of them,' no. there's a thin line between exclusive quality and hipsterin', take a look at it.

hipster subculture is characterized by a particular motif, and revolves around similar patterns. Both fashion & music-wise. By introducing hips to different genres they'll manage to expand their contours and therefore will shit on bands that were once fun to see live. Have you seen alcest live?
