A. They started with one guitarist, Brett. Then they got Greg Hetson so Brett could solo. Then Brett quit and the band got Brian Baker to fill his spot. Then Brett came back and no one left so now there's three guitar players.

B. Because they're old and pioneering fucking legends and they do as they please
