Hey I got an idea, I'm gonna rip off Burial, but repeat the female vocal sample over and over again until it has no meaning, and fuck the atmosphere that's for the birds

this album art breaks the streak and theme of truly awesome technological album arts this guy had going for him!!!!!
|

I don't think it's toooooo bad. It's good to see him doing something different, but it is Skrillex

Tired of reading the same rehashed shit about the guy, "brostep" really isn't a driving force in clubs atm (Trap reigns supreme) and just makes me feel that this is a lot of hyperbole.

Don't mistake whereever you live for the rest of the Western world.

Accurate.

pretty much summed it up perfectly, nice review.
Can anyone tell me a dub step song that doesn't suck, I still can't figure out the hype.
definitely check out Digital Mystikz - Anti War Dub, as well as the rest of their work

There's definitely quite a bit of good stuff. From DMZ/Deep Medi to Burial & Clubroot to Phaeleh, to Distance to Kryptic Minds to Jazzsteppa.

someone told me this sounds like he's mimicking aphex twin and burial
i didnt understand because those 2 sound nothing alike from what ive listened to

I've heard this. Horrible. Don't mind a couple of his songs, but for the most part he is awful.

Where do you live? Here it's everywhere now
It's significance in clubs isn't particularly relevant, this stuff is mainstream

Just saying you're late to the party IMO, new things are already a favorite. Here the people have moved on to trap, something a bit slower but still bass heavy.
The club scene to me is relevant, as it's how his music got popular. The arguments against this feel tired and trite to me, he had to change his sound soonest or later to stay relevant. You should be glad this is taking ideas from better artists and straying for the sound that made him big.

I'm not sure what arguments you're talking about. Usually people just complain about the wubs, the same basslines etc. This is largely different. Still awful. And this guy is still huge

Just a bit peeved at the general consensus towards progress; a change in sound for the mainstream would be nice
I quite enjoy "Leaving" and its vibes compared to the other remix ep he did.
Also nice dig.
