I'm not sure whether to praise him for trying something different or deride him for poorly imitating Burial

It's not a question whether to praise Skrillex or not

it's more of a 'thank you Skrillex for exposing future garage to a broader audience'

imo

ughhh

Keep this stuff coming Skrillex, much better than dubstep.

this is no DUBSTEP

Where is dubstep??, don't try anymore dude, you are doing it worng.

Who the fuck cares if this isn't dubstep

Shit Music DUBSTEP NOW!

Those of the thousand or so that have disliked this, fuck you because you probably only subscribed to Skrillex for dubstep. And now that he's starting to branch out to other styles of Electronica like Porter Robinson, Kill the Noise, and a shit load more, you now hate him.

I want dubstep not this

ughhhhhh

The fact that he jumped directly from his typical garbage straight into a track like this makes it so obvious to me that he just wants to be like "hey look I'm a deep producer too". The fact that he went straight for the Burial sound too, and that it's so clearly imitation work and not something he actually thought up on his own (at all) makes me despise it. If he genuinely showed any signs of actually wanting to produce some deeper stuff, then I'd be fine with it, but I don't think that's what's happening there.

it's quite easy to just fall into the trap of just imitating burial tbh though. maybe he just doesn't know how to expand the sound. there's loads of burial clones around cos of that reason

"this is actual dubstep faggots :|"
It actually isn't, where in the song is there a drop in the beat?

Skrillex isn't a burial clone though, he's already hugely famous because of his own sound and he made a one-off track that just happens to be imitation work of the most critically acclaimed producer in the dubstep genre.
