I'll be 30 in a few weeks but I didn't start listening to Metallica until 2003! Probably the worst time to start listening to them, given that the first song I heard from them was 'Frantic' followed by 'St. Anger' and 'The Unnamed Feeling'. Perhaps since I was in the midst of an angsty nu-metal phase it appealed to me. They're still my favourite band though St. Anger no longer gets any play time because fuck it.
