To be fair
I don't listen to much hip hop anymore
but that doesn't mean i only know Outkast by Hey Ya
Southernplayalistic was one of the first cd's I ever bought way way back in the day.
Granted i've gotten older and outgrown the whole hiphop thing for the mostpart
Does that mean im ignorant when it comes to hip hop?
maybe.
maybe not
But im not ignorant to Outkast
All that said
this album, to me, just keeps getting better.
but perhaps thats because its not an album for "real rap" fans.
I think i like it so much because hip hops been stale and repeated for so long now it seems. and this bends a few genres and it sound very fresh and modern.
Gucci, Wiz, Currensy, TheGame LOL, two chainz, little wayne, the list goes on, I can't tell em appart aside from currensy, and i really don't care to.
The Roots, Kendrick, and now this are the only 3 rap albums ive actually enjoyed since...
hell i don't even know
a decade maybe
whatever im rambling
Hillary i don't think your review was poorly written. I just disagree with your suggestion that OutKast may have been good because of Andre only. And then the whole football deal idk. Not poorly written. Just missed the mark a little. A noble idea to try to make the comparison, but it just didn't work. No big deal. I do shit like that all the time HOLY fuck im still typing

@aids lol. yea well... this is cool from a sound point of view but its not KRS-ONE or Immortal Technique and is still mainstream rap, it grew on me eventually because the choruses became more pointless-wastes-of-time than obnoxious hell-sounds. raps are great but not legendary.
@nwrap i like game more than Kendrick, hes a lot less sloppy in his rhyming and doesn't have to go rapid-pace to hide this

This is written so much better then the other one. I think I'll go for my first review tomorrow with this album.

Personal tastes have nothing to do with it. An album can be enjoyed by someone who lives for the style, and it can be enjoyed by a newcomer. This doesn't effect the credibility of their tastes, man.
