I just wish that each of the songs filled out a bit more as they progressed.

I agree with this. I feel as if the "quiet space" isn't used as well as it could have been. I know
you (Noctus) say that:

Worship also very much understand dynamics, without quiet there is no loud, often having very
long and strung out quiet passages with uneasing and desolate clean guitars and occasional clean
vocals that sound like a sullen, hopeless choir before throwing you right back in

But I don't think it really turns out exactly as you describe. There are times when the dead space
is rather irritating in its sparseness - see "Tide of Terminus" for exactly what I am talking about.
That kind of dead air isn't present in "Last Tape", which makes the record feel more satisfying and
complete, like no detail slipped by.

i didn't really notice, i like it when things are spacious and sparse, i don't think any one moment here outstayed its welcome to a serious extent

reminds me a lot of Corrupted's El Mundo Frio

Idk. For me El Mundo Frio is a really warm and ethereal album. This one, on the other hand, is
cryptic/cavernous and colossally depressing.

will no longer consider your opinion on dynamics worthwhile

you in this thread:

alachlahol moss is almost like the complete antithesis of dynamics :]

you in electric wizard thread pg 31:

sub templum has dynamics, every song has distinct differences

here it's just slightly different riffs every now and again

which would be fine if it wasn't so longgggg

so when you say that worship understands dynamics, do you even know what youre talking about

okay yeah totally misused the word dynamics back when describing moss, fine

i'm surprised you even remember this stuff, it's like your sole purpose is to trip people up

also did you ever even consider my opinion at all

"i'm surprised you even remember this stuff, it's like your sole purpose is to trip people up"

I wouldn't worry about it Noctus, Alachlahol was molested as a child which is why he hates everyone and everything. I don't think I've ever seen him post something happy or even agree with anyone about anything.

I couldn't resist:

October 18th 2011:

[directed to rasputin]

"I was thinking, man, and I think you are a genius. I mean my hatred is for life, civilization, and this world and I love bands I can identify with on that. But your hatred is on a totally different level.

You hate everything, even people that do a good job of hating like Deicide, Amon Amarth, and Gorement. You hate on everyone, even haters, and want them to hate you just as much. Some of your top rated death metal you don't write reviews for, but you write them for indie rock. Fucking genius man. How the fuck did you know that would make me hate your ass?

Brilliant. You've got hatred down to an art and science. Absolutely brilliant.

When you wake up, you hate that you woke up and scream. When you go to the bathroom to take a piss, you hate that you have a small dick. When you go to the kitchen to get a bowl of cereal, you hate how good fruity pebbles taste and pour them out. When you put on a CD that sounds great, you take it out and scratch it to hell and put it back in. When a nice looking girl tries to talk to you, you frown and tell her to piss off. When you retire for the night you think of suicide, but you hate Death or God if they are there, and if you died you wouldn't live to wake up and start hating again.

Tell me if I am getting close..."

I don't think I've ever seen him post something happy or even agree with anyone about anything.

Alachlahol:

Deeper explanation:

[October 18 2011]

'why are you and rasputin so mad'

= It's because alachlahol and I hate everything, even people that do a good job of hating like Deicide, Amon Amarth, and Gorement. W hate on everyone, even haters, and want them to hate us just as much. Some of our top rated death metal we don't write reviews for, but we write them for indie rock. We're fucking genius man.
