Album was really enjoyable. Shining is a little formulaic with their work but it ain't broke don't fix it. Has nothing on V

This goes all the way back to IV, I don't know what Shining band you've been listening to. The way I've seen this band progress, they started adding in a lot more alternative metal into the mix with VI and completely mistepped with VII. This is Kvarforth finally getting it together and writing a cohesive album (minus a few recycled riffs from the past). Good review though, you're writing style is easy to read.

"For The God Below" is a sick track but unfortunately the rest aren't up to par.

Not at all true, 'The Ghastly Silence" is one of the best songs he's ever written.
