To each their own. This just isn't as good as their classic albums, or even Down on the Upside.

Down on the Upside is one of their classic albums.

:b

seriously. That album is a fucking achievement.

It makes Badmotorfinger look like fucking child's play. It's the weathered older brother of Superunknown that is missing a couple teeth, but has better stories.

what an underrated record, I just don't understand why.

"It makes Badmotorfinger look like fucking child's play." That makes me sad.

Can't seem to get into Rowing as much as other people seem to like it

Bones of Birds is amazing though, definitely in the top 3 for me

'Rowing' is the track on here that brings the most refreshing material. 'Rowing' also features Chris' strongest vocals on the album and savvy guitar work from Thayil. Whereas, I would argue as catchy as 'Bones of Birds' is, it has the most recycled properties on King Animal.

In relation to my last comment,

I just can't get into Badmotorfinger as much as their 94 and 96 records. I mean I love the album, it
has Good Eye Closed + Slaves & Bulldozers, which are monstrous tracks...

but dudes, DotU is so good. There's a difference between striking gold a few times (Badmotorfinger,
for me) and coming into your own and making a mature record (DotU in my mind).

@Chip- The general consensus is that the opener is the weakest track on the album.

Yeah, the opener is kinda bland, but tracks 2 through 8 are absolutely amazing.

I've been meaning to purchase this. Hey, since I loved the opener, apparently I should love the rest even more.
