Not for me. If you compare each track In the Court is still a lot better imo. Pictures of a City cant beat 21st Century Schizoid Man

Listening to In the Court and this back to back is beyond enjoyable.

The mixing is better on this, and that fucking bass tone is so scrumptiously delicious I want to get
it pregnant and raise its kids

Starless is on right now, still the best song ever made.
|
| |
almost as good as in the court. few more listens before I rate it though.

It's funny that when this was originally released critics praised it as being an improvement over In The Court...
|
| |
might very well be my final verdict too, but for now I can still say I enjoyed in the court more.

I just can't enjoy this as much because it's almost a carbon copy of In the Court (Save for a few songs).

Agreed, lots of glaring similarities. Still a fairly good album, but considering how original In The Court was at the time,
this is pretty disappointing.

This is about as good as ITCOTCK for me and doesn't have a really weak moment like the annoying improv section in Moonchild. Who cares about the similarities, it's still just as enjoyable as ITCOTCK imo and has just enough character of its own to separate it from that album.

It stands pretty good by itself and in comparison with ITCOTCK imo.

Agreed.

And about similarities, maybe they wanted to make it that way. I don't see any problem about that. After all, why would you change a style when it's working well?
|
| |
Personally the similarities to ITCOTCK don't effect my enjoyment of this album at all and really that's all that matters.
