It was a bit sub par before, now it's right up there with this one. Same bloody length! It's been made so much better

Had to lower the rating a tad, mostly because of the first disc. Sometimes I just play the second disc by itself

But the first disc is even better than the second :[

first track is lame. it gets a lot better instantly from the second track onwards, but it's hard to shake a weak impression from a poor opener.

Cold Front got me into this band, man...

guess ill give that track another punt then. i dont remember there being anything interesting about it, nor did it seem to fit the tone of the rest of the album.

It's kind of a personal track for me as well, I first heard it just around the time a friend of mine passed away. Regardless, it's still a great song

Yeah it's really personal for me as well. It's just the kind of track that, if something important is happening in your life, it will forever remind you of it.
I just have to hear the opening sustained note and I'm instantly back to last September and leaving for uni. It's weird

i get that a lot. even for albums i don't like and never really liked. if i happened to first listen to them when i was in a certain setting or mood then i will get a nostalgic feeling regardless of how good it is. first checked out "the four trees" by caspian 2 summers ago. didn't really like it (still don't), but when i went back to that album the following spring i got an overwhelming feeling of driving under the sun with a summer breeze. it was a great feeling even though i don't like the music. strange tangent there and not really relevant lol but just thought i'd give some of my own input on the phenomenon you're describing.
