Cypher was wack all around besides maybe jay rock who at least knows his place isn't pretending to be lyrical.

It's not surprising chuck thought that's a freestyle, literally all black hippy does is brag and just focuses on the rhyme style. Boring as fuck. They LITERALLY didn't say one thing that wasNt them boasting about dumb shit teenagers brag about. Might as well just listen to them reading out a rhyme dictionary, pausing mid sentence to mention they fucked your bitch, then going right back to reading out a rhyme dictionary. Sick flow though dood! Shit is the definition of wack.

Also lmfao at BET pretending they are down withthe origins of hip hop when they did more to promote garbage commercial rap than anyone

bet's pretty bad agreed

kendrick's cypher was pretty good tho, but only because his presentation was so on point. his lyrics are nothing special for the most part, but his delivery is what made people go nutso i think

Yeah agreed I have just lost my patience with rap that is all delivery oriented being the ONLY stuff that is popular. No new rappers have anything new to say, they are just biting shit and trying to pretend they are on another level than old school rappers just cus they rhyme more and rap faster. Wick-wick-wack

The song Rigamortis is the perfect example

That's unfair since that's the point of rigamortis. He literally is showing us how long he can go without taking a breath.

which is exactly lambs point. thats the kind of stuff he isnt down with, according to his post.

But he states it as if that is all Kendrick is doing. Songs like Sing About Me, I'm Dying of Thirst disprove that.

those songs dont get the attention, though. his post clearly wasnt centred around kendrick, it was centred around the type of rap that gets popular nowadays. so those songs dont apply to what he was saying.

On spotify, the top 3 songs are Bitch don't kill my vibe, ADHD, and MADD city. I think two of those songs are covering serious themes.

This is clearly centered around Kendrick.

all of those songs have typical mainstream sounds. what kendrick is saying hardly matters at that point. swimming pools got popular as fuck. do you think its because of the message of the song, or the way the song sounds aurally?

you can't judge someone's worth off of a fucking cypher. they are essentially battle raps so they are used to boast.

I can agree that the songs are probably popular off of sound mostly, and yeah the mainstream rap scene is shit, but I'm just defending Kendrick Lamar.

implying a good flow, voice and production aren't more important than lyrics
