Yeah my friend went to the COB show and saw these guys, said they were fantastic. I'll have to check into this since it sounds like it's a good listen. Very nice job on the review

Initially I was blown away by these guys but now when I listen again it seems too repetitive and boring. I'm actually surprised to see a 4. Guess my tastes are just off from everyone else. Good review.

i am proud to say that through the eyes of the dead is from my home town, i have seen them play countless times in crappy bars and run down venues and seen them progress over the years. if you like them you should definatly check out "the classic struggle" (also from my home town, which is myrtle beach, sc) they are signed to metel blade/iron clad records and in my own humble opinion i think that they are alot better than through the eyes of dead and deserve much more recognition then what they get, so if you have time PLEASE check them out!!! you wont regret it!!

also what is the deal with calling them metal core?! norma jean is metal core, through the eyes of the dead is straight up metal!!This Message Edited On 05.17.06

Horribly bland and generic music that relies heavily on overused breakdowns.

I was duped into buying this after hearing good things about the group's brand of "death metal". Some chatter on some metal forums made it sounds like this group was a rebirth of the allmighty Autopsy or something!

They come accross as decent enough musicians, but retain too much of the metalcore elements that I absolutely loathe. Good metalcore album with some death metal influence? Sure, I suppose. Then again, I hate metalcore so that doesn't do me any good. heh.

To each their own though.

Deathcore doesn't really exist.

Seriously. Deathcore is just death metal, sure there's a bit of a hardcore influence, but hardly enough to warrant the creation of a new subgenre. It's just what insecure death-heads pawn on music they disapprove of.

This album is very good, but I liked metalcore to begin with (h). My favorite songs are "Two Inches from a Main Artery," "When Everything Becomes Nothing," and "Truest Shade of Crimson."

The drummer is amazing too. This Message Edited On 12.07.06

So this is death metal? Melodic death metal?

It leans toward the latter.

Meh, Not really, or at least not really what I would think of if someone said Melo-Death.

That's because most people think of Gothenburg Death when they hear Melodeath.

Eh, this is death. I wouldn't call it melo-death. Maybe Death/ Metalcore.

I didn't call it melodeath though. It isn't.
Didn't say you did. Someone above you did.
