okay bros, these guys weren't intending on making "jane doe" part 2 or "axe to fall, again". it's just
an album of PURE LIFTYNESS. its fuckin lifty brahs. it makes me wanna fuckin FUCK AND lift. makes me
wanna throw a dumbbell at some idiot 20 feet away from me who's working out all wrong and shit.
godamn, this album pumps me up more than any other converge album. i rate my albums on how lifty they
are and if it gives me enough passion to lift and strut my shit like a rooster. not how fuckin TRVE
they remain to the scene, i could care less about that. FUCK this album is raging

It's Converge. There has to be a shit-storm of drama or it's not a true release.

Let's be honest here:

Everybody who says Converge is trying to go (slightly) mainstream with this release is correct. It's still quality though.

dont see how this is a more mainstream approach than axe to fall (which is their second best release), it's a dirtier album and more hxc/punk than axe to fall

Anyone hearing Mastodon in some of the guitar work on this album? Also the entire first track

this album is far less abrasive than axe to fall but i would argue that actually makes it less likely to succeed commercially because of the style converge plays.

It's just the feeling I get from it. There's a lot of doom and stoner undertones on this one, to me at least.

besides converge have absolutely no interest in making music specifically to please more people, anybody who knows the character of any member of this band especially kurt would know that even if it is more accessible to more metalheads it wasn't intentional

I definitely hear the old Mastodon, but I think that's really just 90s Entombed coming through. Old Mastodon just sounded a lot like Entombed too, not that it's a bad thing.

It doesn't really matter what their intentions were.
