I think he meant that the album isn't anything revolutionary in the genre, but it is really good.

Yeah I don't think it was really directed at anyone.

love the RYM reviews.

"music nowadays sucks, i wish they still made music like they did in the 70s"
"this sucks, it sounds too much like stuff from the 70s"

I love this so far. I know it's beyond ridiculous to say and irrelevant but I feel a small sense of pride that this is from Australia. I'm drowning in awesome new music. Feels good man.

@Chris
Glad your digging this, man. Australia actually has produced lot of artists that I love like Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, AC/DC, Wolfmother, and of course, Tame Impala.

On my second listen now! Good review as well man - didn't realise it was yours. Congrats on Contrib too, even though it was probably ages ago. You bring something different to the table than the rest as far as I know so it's good they went that way.

For an Aussie I know surprisingly little of Nick Cave's music.

Nick Cave is good, man. I recommend him if your interested in dark post-punk/alt rock music. But their sound is definitely more broad than that. And thanks for the kind words, mate. I appreciate it.

Here's a banging b-side off this album.

Apparently KP has a vault of like 100 demos recorded over the last ten years...

I'd actually chop off my penis and trade the shrivelled corpse of my genitalia to hear that.

Oh yeah, and Australian music actually kicks ass as of late, there's an incestuous bunch of Perth musicians in particular
that keep on spitting out some seriously cool music. If you dig this album you should definitely check out...

My rating will surely go down in time. Like I said this is nothing extraordinary within the genre. Due to the repetitive song structures, it is guaranteed to grow off of me in time. Probably soon, sadly. The great appeal of most of the bands in the genre is that the structures tend to frequently change. Tame Impala finds a lot of comfort in their great hooks, to a fault.
