Atari85, while Uno does mix a lot of what Green Day has covered before, it is a coherent mix in my
opinion, meaning every song seems to relate to one another. It is like comparing a sandwich to a
blended sandwich. Uno is like a blended sandwich, while 21st may have been a stacked sandwich, where
TOO many songs just stood on their own with little or no connection to the album as a whole. Also
remember that Nimrod and American idiot showcased a broad range of songs and styles, and both were
decent albums. Dookie was interesting in that it was SO coherent yet so powerful.
Sorry about getting so deep with this. Green Day has been my favorite punk-pop-rock band since 2005.

No problem you make valid points, but what about the LYRICS?

I really like the lyrics from the first two songs, and Kill the DJ makes up for the lyrics with the
guitar progressions. Other than that, these lyrics are expected from Green Day. Not really deep but not
outrageously stupid.
"Like a Nuclear bomb and it won't be long 'till I detonate!"
I love singing that line.

when did green day ever strive for super creative lyrics?

dude the lyrics on dookie are satirical and genius compared to this.
"twiddle my thumbs for just a bit, I'm sick of all the same old SHIT. When masturbations lost it's fun, you're fucking lazy!!"

I just think you like singing about masturbation.

no problem. I reviewed them over a month ago and they only have 2 ratings which is criminal because I think they're a pretty good pop punk band.
What show?

"It seems Green Day has fooled you all."
Absolutely, 100% agreed. I really don't understand where all the 3s and 3.5s are coming from.

If I quite liked Dookie but didn't really like American Idiot will i like this ?

I agree with your choices for weaker tracks (they are mine too), and with DJ being ridiculously awful. I also agree with the "Danger Days" comparison, but only for the two singles. Other than that, I think this is about 10 billion times stronger than 21CB, and a welcome return to form. I mean, what's so wrong with Nimwarniac?

@Menawati: most likely. If you liked Insomniac then you'll DEFINITELY like this, as it is its closest equivalent in sound.

@menawati, I love dookie but this album is pretty lame. Give it a shot though if u want as I seem to be in the minority that didn't like it
