"The vocals have changed to the extent where I initially questioned why the vocalist was replaced."

Hard to take anything in that paragraph seriously after that, but I tried. It really isn't breakdown focused. Are there breakdowns? Of course, but "ridiculously breakdown focused" is a serious exaggeration. And the guitarists had pleeenty of time to shine on this record. How much you enjoyed their style on this album... or didn't enjoy it is your opinion, but they certainly didn't just sit there and chug it out.

I'll agree with the underwhelming choruses though. I love this album and this band to death, but they made some rookie mistakes as far as the choruses and weak clean vocals go. The chorus in Americans is perfect, but the one in Gaunt and Fierce did a lot more harm than good.

I honestly don't see why stating that I thought the vocals have changed is anything to scoff at. They
don't sound like they did on HWL. Even lyrically I sensed a change.

The album is a breakdown fest. That is no exaggeration. Around 25+ percent of the albums content has
at least a breakdown backbone. That wouldn't be an issue if half the breakdowns weren't
uninteresting(Bury Tomorrow do this right).

It's not that it's breakdown fest, it's that the breakdowns suck for one. Agreed.

Once again, it's not even that there's too many breakdowns they're just boring as fuck. Like hardly anything above an Emmure album, not even.

This album is so stale, and then I instinctively go to HWL to see if it really is better and it's like an overflowing glass of water compared to this dry, boring desert.

Well nothing is like a Emmure album. We agreed with each other. The amount breakdowns has nothing to do with the quality of the record. I'm simply stating there are a lot.

It just isn't anything special, the breakdowns do suck though is what I'm saying. Nothing here that even ABR hasn't already done better.
