Yeah this album is really great. I asked to get this featured, but they didnt for some reason. It's definitely one of the best albums of this month.

I have to say that this is one of the most beautiful and true and honest reviews i ever read. To write about john and a specially to write a review on one of the most challenging album. it is one of the hardest thing. Well done man.

I have seen some really scathing comments about this record, but it is actually pretty engaging. Not necessarily one of the best listens of 2012 so far, but it has a very interesting vibe. The kinda vibe that I will likely revisit.

| |
Yeah it's pretty polarising I can't get enough though

I finally got around to reading this man! sorry for taking so long!
I definitely agree with your opinion that the first two tracks are the weakest, but it's so true that one 'Bike' starts up the quality just does not stop!
I should bump this up to a 4.5 too...
Digging: The National - Trouble Will Find Me |

Haha damn dude that's a big bump! Actually now that I think about it this was a 3 for me on the first few listens before it clicked.

Yeah i literally rated this a 3.5 after one listen and I really really hated the first two songs and hadn't really got my head around the rest haha.

Intro/Sabam is cool like it's not mindblowing or anything but it does its job. Hear Say just kinda disrupts the flow though. I might dig Hear Say more if it was somewhere else in the tracklist but yeah it makes a bad first impression to the album.
