Following the divisive 'Day & Age', bombastic synth-rockers The Killers emerge 4 years later with cinematic 4th LP 'Battle Born'. Returning to the anthemic Springsteen-like Americana which dominated 'Sam's Town', the Las Vegas quartet use 5 A-List producers & predictably aim large. This LP is unapologetically overblown, over-dramatic & almost overbearing in its want to fill stadiums... And yet, that is The Killers at their unsubtle best. Unfortunately, while nothing is awful, they only show their best sporadically here, with the overly chorus-reliant remaining tunes feeling like a Killers cover band. Recommended Tracks: Runaways, Battle Born & A Matter of Time.
