Heroes for Ghosts is already one of my favorite songs by them. Her voice is just perfect on it.

Digging: Sofia Gubaidulina - Chamber Music With Double Bass

Still a 5 after a month :D

This is so good that even made me check Silje's other band Octavia Sperati. Not bad yet nothing special either.

Yeah, ran into them myself today. Nothing spectacular, but pretty decent.

I agree that there is no track that can be an obvious single or a "hit" but I don't think TG are preoccupied with that any more, they're making the kind of music they like without adhering to any particular notions of what should be considered commercially successful. This is a very atmospheric album, and it's got a kind of a different pace to the West Pole, while TWP was gravitating towards being "trippy", this one is a bit more "dreamy". It's all well though, still brilliant music.

You know Johnny, 3 years ago I'd shot someone who would say a Silje album is better than an Anneke album..

...nowadays I'm not so sure about that. :D

Humm...if there's one thing I've learned with their audience is, there's no such thing as a most acclaimed TG album (unlike the least acclaimed which is Almost a Dance).

But something tells me you'll end up loving How To Measure a Planet. it's probably their most diverse album, while at the same time, mainting the same atmosphere in all of the songs.

How To Measure a Planet is their best, certainly out of their albums with Anneke. This has ended up in the top three overall for me.
