Right on Zak, all day every day. Sounds like a damn good time to me.

Never saw them in the UK, but saw them In Rhode Island '94 at Rocky Point Paladium... unfortunately the place has been shut down for a couple decades, but it was an amusment park that had tons of good bands/artists play there for the longest time. Weezer opened for that brit band Lush

lol Lush.

The Astoria has closed among 40% of other live venues in London. The remainder have all been 're-branded' and come complete with health and safety protocols, lower volumes, advertising and a hefty dose of complete soul destroy.

London venues are still just as good, if anything the ones that have survived are better than they used to be. The Astoria was always shit, did the job but when you heard it was The Astoria you were always a bit gutted. Will have good memories of it for seeing Elliott Smith and RATM there.

At least it was better than the Borderline.

Shepherd's Bush Empire is an absolute quality venue, Brixton is decent for a bigger band and Ally Pally is legendary and a million times better than watching a band once they make that jump to Wembley (shit venue).

For the chin strokers Royal Festival Hall and the Barbican are awesome too. The smaller pub venues around Camden and Kings Cross are still just as good, that Evil Blizzard gig was perfect.

The crowds are the only thing that have got worse, everyone on their phone to the point artists have to ask for people to put them away and shut the fuck up. Also venues like Brixton you get the booze cruising wankers who just pay to get in whoever the band and then get tanked and try to start fights.

The only one that's decent is Somerset House but it's top to toe hipster bastard shit.

Ally Pally is class.

I might re-5 this, so much charm and melodic genius in a relatively small package
