well michael could never sing well technically, but he was effective nonetheless: both when screaming and when singing in a very, very low, "doom" voice. Here however he tries to sing in a conventional way and often it's annoying. He should just hire a vocalist and be done with it.

What? Naaah. I think his voice, while not marvelously impressive in range fits this band perfectly.

Does anyone of you own the vinyl version? Look at this:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Seer_(Swans_album)#Vinyl_LP_track_listing

I can understand changing the order and splitting s/t in two but doing it to "The Apostate" and "A Piece of the Sky"? Was it Gira's idea?

I prefer that tracklist to be honest, I like how it ends with Seer/Seer Returns

please, there can be no better ending to The Seer than the mystic, ritual-like closing drum solo of "The Apostate". ;-)

I think changing the track list is kinda lame, because it makes it seem like its cohesiveness is just by chance.

You got things to read in relation to that conclusion ?

Sounds a lot lighter/more upbeat. But also sounds like there's still some significant orchestra shit happening. That was enough to get me decently hyped, actually.

Are you going to listen to The Gate before the 14th album comes out?
