Ehh. When I go back and listen to 'We Are The Foundation' it becomes obvious just how much better Neema's groove suited Monuments.

Anyway, this album wears off fast. Might drop it to a 3. Not much innovation going on here.

Matt Rose was amazing, and Neema belonged in Fellsilent.

Blue Sky Thinking is my shit.

Basically a heavier TesseracT IMO.

Still good album, Blue Sky Thinking is probably the best on here though the vocals can be really annoying at times.

They need someone like Dan Tompkins for them.

I still think Matt was perfect for this. I don't get the TesseracT reference though, this is miles ahead of them.

Chills everytime.

I strongly believe Neema & Greg were more suited for this band. Their flow/groove was so sick in the track Admit Defeat, but interestingly enough, the album version COMPLETELY disinterests me.

That being said, the album is good, worthy of 3.5. I initially had it at 4 but dropped it down .5 after half a year of listening to it non stop. There are some flaws but I think this band will go somewhere for sure.

I'm still hooked on it. Now that Matt is gone, who knows. Matt made this album for me. I mean I love John Browne, but Matt's vocals hooked me.

Uh yeah, I was into John Browne and Neema way before Monuments. Fellsilent was and still is one of my favorite bands. Hidden Words is classic.

" I don't get the TesseracT reference though, this is miles ahead of them."

I prefer Tess over this. I can only deal Monuments in doses, the "djentiness" of it gets too repetitive for me. However listen to 97% Static, sounds like an early Tess song.

Especially the guitar break from 2:55 onwards.

Album is groovy as fuck tho.

nah i just usually tell trolls that they're douchebags, then proceed to never grace them with replies again.

that to me isn't funny, and i consider myself to have a really good sense of humor.

Still don't like this, probably never will. Pointless, well executed but creatively limited music. Run of the mill Djent. Maybe i just don't feel their groove like most people. Now Tesseract, that's a groove i can dream to.
