Great review, I agree with mostly everything and appreciate the "Blood from a Stone" shoutout; my favorite track on the album. BSN still has such unbelievable replay value for me years later, this, I don't think so much.
i'm glaring at you for that summary (good review though). i must be the only one here who thinks on letting go is far and away circa's best album.

Good review but I personally disagree with many of your negative points. I for one think Anthony's performance on the album is fantastic, and displays some of his best lyrics to date. I also feel that Think of Me When They sound is an amazing track and fits perfectly with Brother Song. Might bump this to a 4.5 soon.
Digging: Amenra - Mass V
Juturna has almost no energy.
Digging: Godflesh - Pure
yeah juturna is easily their worst.
Juturna was boring; although I haven't really been a fan of most of their work, except BSN.
Digging: Ted Nugent - Shutup&jam!

WHAT Juturna has like the best atmosphere ever, even if it drags in some of the songs. But I don't like On Letting Go very much so it makes sense we disagree.

circa can do no wrong by me but i don't see this being anywhere near as listened to as bsn/appendage was
it's not that good
"Who would have thought that the ferocious Anthony Green-who early into the last decade was tearing up the underground post-hardcore scene-would become so domesticated?"
That is the most troubling line in the whole review for me. I want Saosin Anthony back
^ good point, man
But really I'm so excited to hear this.
Juturna was a sleeper, so drowsy. Don't remember a thing about On Letting Go, and BSN was exceptional.
Digging: The Contortionist - Language
i don't think bsn was as creative or atmospheric as on letting go.
I liked on letting go, but not only was it an absolute carbon copy of juturna, but all the songs sounded alike. And bsn wasn't atmospheric it just had really good songs.
I have never seen so many differing opinions on a bands discography as I do with Circa Survive. Honestly, I think their albums are all pretty on par. This might be my least favorite, though.
My favorite Circa song has to be "The Difference Between Medicine And Poison Is In The Dose" Everything about that song is perfect.

Digging: Jolly - The Audio Guide to Happiness (Part 2)
I can't get rly into any album by these guys except Juturna.
And I use to be a huge Green fanboy, hence my user name.
I wonda how many kids here who dislike Juturna started liking the band well after On Letting Go. Oh, all of them :D
