trebor is just really disappointed in this

Jammed this for the first time in a while during my morning run today. Some fun stuff on here and I dig the heavier tunes but still a bit too much filler. It doesn't have the same 'magic' as their first two for me, unfortunately.

It's just a fucking lame effort after their last albums, that were total masterpieces!

they're writing catchy pop/rock songs. it isn't all electronic-based like intimacy, but come on...

The songs here are just so much shallower though. I loved their other albums because there was an intellectual curiosity and emotional honesty. This has neither.

kele used to rule in the early days but the more time goes by the more cringeworthy stuff he writes

Apparently all catchy pop/rock songs use the same formula...

you think the formula is different here than it was on intimacy? pray tell
|

This isn't as good as Intimacy though
they'll never make another The Prayer/Flux

yeah i've really come around to that one. such a catchy rock tune.
i like how this is mixed with equal parts lighter, atmospheric stuff and their fast-paced rock-out songs

Their best since Silent Alarm, easy.
|

so this is actually somewhat good? I find it hard to believe they have enough juice to make a full album enjoyable. singles, yeah. but full albums, no.
