Damnit, I keep trying to listen to this album all the way through, but I keep turning on Planetary Duality before its end :/

yeah its growing on me slowly but i still cant get past the amount of clean vocals, they just sound so out of place sometimes

Initially, I thought "What the hell are clean vocals doing in The Faceless" but after hearing them scattered around on the album, they sound really really good no matter where they are in the songs. And the guitar solos? God help me...

I think the cleans scattered throughout give this band a little more depth. Im really digging that solo near the end of Emancipate.

If this isn't average, what is? Something similar but with less talent? Does this in any way shape or form sound original?

The guitar work leaves me breathless. 3:40 on the second Autotheism track is trippy mane

I waited 4 years for THIS? God damn it, they now sound like Cynic and Opeth masturbated into a Petri dish, it was injected into Devin Townsend in vivo and he drank heavily before giving assbirth to this maligned, tumor filled mess of an album. Pure musical wankery.

Feels like a not-quite-as-good Last Chance to Reason album.

Alright I've DEFINITELY heard the opening acoustic lick from "In Solitude" in an Opeth song...I just can't remember which one.

The saxophone solo is fuckin sexy

Yeah it was one of my favorite parts on the album it just came out of nowhere.
This is definitely the weakest album these guys have done though, in my opinion. Too many tech death bands have been taking the pseudo-intellectucal sci-fi/progressive route. Akeldama is still quite rad, though.
