This is LOG's best album imo. Devin Townsend got performances emotional performances ouf of the band that have yet to be matched. Although there is some great instrumentation on the albums after this, I feel that the production style found on AotW and most of the albums afterwards lacked any trace of humanity. Plus the lyrics got campy and come off like shitty attempts at Phil Anselmo worship.

This is a great album. Lamb of God is so sick. One of my favorite bands. I do wish that the production on it was better, the solos seem quiet to me, but their still badass. This one is my favorite lamb of god album. M/

Because it's TEHCN1CAL1!11! That album seems great at first but gets old really fast. I think this one is, in a way, the least ambitious, but is the best for that. It's not trying to be anything more than what it is. Or something.

Ya this album certainly feels like their most comfortable.

But even tho Ashes is "more technical", after Ashes came out I went from being a relatively large fan of the band to not even listening to them.

Yeah, I just can't bring myself to try to listen to them anymore. It just doesn't matter. Drum fill on Ruin = half the reason I like the band.
