Actually yeah Into the Grave is better for the guitar tone alone. Neither are anyway near Dismember's or Entombed's debuts though.

Good-great, but nothing spectacular.

'Where No Life Dwells' pales in comparison to Dismember's debut and Entombed's sophomore effort, both released in 1991.

The riffing on this album is very generic, especially for 1991. Very simple and very predictable with no variation.

Johnny Hedlund is a great vocalist with some solid screams, but what Swedish death metal vocalist isn't excellent? So again... Entombed, Dismember, and At the Gates all do it better.

Highlights are Dead Forever, Before The Creation Of Time, and The Dark One.

Generous rating.
