"I hate this guys voice..."

Have you listened to the album and his earlier ones? It's much more controlled right now, without the feeling of holding back. His voice gets pretty nasal when he really gives it all, but it's a big difference compared to especially "Shallow Grave". I'm having a much harder time listening to Dylan than this.

Some things are best left unsaid, and however solid your writing is, it just falls painfully short at describing this album. All of his work, develops a personal relationship with you, and its subjective nature just exemplifies the silliness of a review. Regardless, lets cheers to the album.

Is your argument that this music is so good that it transcends criticism? Really?

This was pretty tough to write because it is surprisingly difficult to describe.

Need this ASAP. Have everything he's done prior at 4 or 4.5.

Mint review.

Didn't like it as much as The Wild Hunt as first because there aren't as many standalone songs, but goddamn this album is cohesive. So goddamn good.

I got ma Deluxe Vinyl the other day!! While not on par with the brilliant Wild Hunt, this is still a great album

great review, though i would definitely say his playing is deceptively complex rather than deceptively simple

o also 1904 is great wind and walls kicks ass and on every page is one of the best songs he's ever written

His voice is really hard to get used to. He does the whole emotion thing right, really great actually, but the tone is...... I don't like it for some reason.

Wonderful review, Eli.

Wind and Walls is the highlight of this for me. Used to hate this guy's voice, but it's become quite enticing for me as of late.
