Walkmen seem to have the opposite effect on me than they do with everyone else... They slowly get away from why I liked them in the first place. Like here, "Heartbreaker" just annoys me because everyone's doing that surf sound. That song could be any other band, ya know?
I always go back to songs like "The Rat", maybe that element is just the minority and I've had them wrong all along.. Don't get wrong though, I'm not in here demanding what the band does not offer

M. Night. Shyamalan twist.
It's really solid.
Song for Leigh, Dreamboat and Love is luck are reeaaaally great. The whole thing is pretty close to a 4.5.

i don't know though because i feel they have a lot of bands-i-like DNA in them. like i love a song like "juvenlies" but listening to a full album turns me completely cold. i love "heaven" here too, idk.
maybe it will take another two years

Loving this, they have such a unique sound. On first listen it hasn't hit me like Lisbon did, but I have a strong feeling this will be a grower.

Ok granted im only 2 listens in but I dont know what the big deal is about this album. This is at best mediocre. Maybe I will grow to love it later down the track but this is no lisbon. That album punched me in the face from the get go with its greatness. This one pales in comparison. So far that is.
