Yeah you'd think people woulda gotten over the faggot word when eminem was a spokesperson saying he has nothing against gays and just means asshole or dickhead, it's a generic insult.

well if you actually think it's "ok" to say faggot, like, you're so naive that you think it doesn't contribute to mainstream homophobia, then yeah you're an ignorant moron. I think it's ~ok~ to say it sometimes, but you've got to know what the effect of your words is and understand that there will be a (justified) reaction on either side. It's a part of rap and 90% of the time it's handled tastefully and done in a ....non-hateful (??) way, but it's still... you know what I mean.

neither nor tbh, i agree with a lot of what you said aids but

It's a part of rap and 90% of the time it's handled tastefully and done in a ....non-hateful (??) way

is a stretch and a half. some rappers are utilizing commentary when using these words but hip-hop is renowned for being one of the most homophobic genres in the past, id say a much larger portion of them are not doing it in a tasteful and non hateful way at all. although this has been changing over the years, which is great.

well imo it doesn't, music is a place for expression and if you wnt to be politically incorrect it's ok by me, as long as it's done, as aids said, tastefully(oxymoron i know). i've heard my fair share of anti religious and anti white tunes but i don't get offended because the bands or rappers who do it sound good tbh and are usually implementing parody and are probably not actually racist or discriminatory irl.

absolutely it does, being conscious and not a racist or homophobic prick has as much a place in music as being a racist homophobic prick. expression doesn't have to be discriminatory, however, obviously it can be

as for the second part, i already addressed commentary, its not a black and white issue its like, super fuckin grey. like.... something thats really grey type grey.
