lol - that is exactly the way I felt. kept looking for the upside but really didn't see much of one. it's better than most stuff out there, but not a game-changer.

yeah pretty much. Section 80 is the only Black Hippy release I've heard that's really done something for me.

I love 'Double Standards', but yeah the album as a whole is too inconsistent. Still though, it's one of those albums that even though I can recognize all its many faults I can still enjoy it. It's great background sitting in the sun music

For some reason I thought this wasn't gonna be good but damn. If this was 12 songs long it would be absolutely incredible. Sits at a low 4 for now.

I love Double Standards. That King Crimson "Islands" sample fits so well. Album was a grower for me.

It's better than a 3.5 for sure, took me a few listens, but Soul is making some good shit. I don't think it has any filler, besides lust demons.

You got to listen to it a few times for it to sink in, my first couple listens I thought it was just alright, but now I love it, its one of my top records of 2012 in hip hop

Sorry but whoever reviewed this shouldn't have been allowed to do so. To say that Danny Brown was better than soul on TT for one is outrageous and also shows you know nothing about lyricism and flow. Weak production? Each and every single one of TDE's projects has good production is on point. Inconsistent in what way? Every song on there has lyrical content that makes you think, he may be inconsistent in what he talks about but who wants to hear the same shit all the time. IMO your a poor reviewer, who knows nothing about hip-hop. I'm guessing the song pineal gland went right over your head. So did the production. Ab-soul is nearly on Kendricks level and control systems is as good as Section.80. You lot don't know about hip-hop
