For me its: Antichrist Superstar, then Holy Wood, then Mechanical Animals then this, then Golden Age...they're all pretty close though, minus the pretty big gap between Holy Wood and the other three. Some dancy parts of Golden Age throw me off, but it still rules.

Marilyn Manson is probably the most overrated metal musician out there at the minute

At least they have moral principles instead of using an album as an excuse to swear like Manson does such as on the song "Para-Noir"

The only two albums I really never care if I ever listen to again/tend to avoid at all costs are the two albums before this. I have no idea how some people liked that shit...I'm all for trying new shit out, but ugh

Hes not even Metal, never was, He's Industrial (very poppy industrial) at the most Alt Rock, but not Heavy Metal

"fuck everything after holy wood"

As much as i like this album i agree. Wish he would have stopped and started up another project after

that album because he's just soiling the reputation he had in the 90's, even his interviews are

immature and pointless. Live hes seen as one of the rock communities biggest jokes these last few

years.

"he's also not relevant"

yep

lol, I don't really agree all this crap, my ratings for MM:

Portrait : 2.5

Antechrist : 2.5

Mechanical : 4

Holy wood : 4

Golden age : 3.5

Eat me : 4

High end of low : 4

Born vilain : 2

maybe I'm not a huge industrial fan...

holy wood has many great songs (as many as mechanical), but it is just longer so there are some fillers. Mechanical is shorter so there isn't any filler on it, that's just the difference between them (IMO) and that's why they're both rated 4. When you listen to them as a whole it's true that mechanical is better than holy wood.
