Love, love, loved Killing Joke on Absolute Dissent, but I primarily listen to metal. This band is
regarded as having an amazing catalog, but I don't where/if to start. Is their older stuff too
different for me?

Wasn't a huge fan of absolute dissent but this is sounding better and better the more i read about it. Pandemonium will always be my favorite joke though

The best parts of Absolute Dissent top this but this is far more consistent. Not a single track that's even average.

Anyone know why this cd is like $24 on amazon? I spent $32 on this album... Well worth it, but kinda expensive.

The few songs I've listened to from this album are also leading me to think that this is a stronger album that their last. "Rapture" is one hell of a track.

I'm really disappointed by this album. Maybe a few more listens will help but overall it feels really dated and lacklustre.

Never listened to these guys until I came across this review but so far the first three songs have been pretty damn good.

Yeah, this album is very good. KJ, IMHO, is one of the most consistent bands nowadays. Finally production on the album is very good. "Absolute Dissent" was rather terribly produced. Raw, but overbassy, overwarmy, and loud as f*ck.
Best straightforward rock band, anyone?

^ They don't sound very straightforward on this release IMO.

Don't see the variety people are talking about. Seems like similar production and instrumentation throughout.

Just for the record: A nuclear meltdown is by definition not a "natural disaster".

You are now on my list of "Cool Staff" hahahahaha. If I've ever read a more fitting review for this band, you certainly pulled it off in style. Have a gold star.

"the band’s fifteenth studio album in thirty two years"

Wow... I've never heard of these guys before, but after reading this I think I'll have to take a look.

Good review, by the way. Very well written.
