Did you mean relying?

It's confirmed. This got the same treatment as the bonus tracks on the Focus remaster. Sounds stellar. Going to get this.

I can tell you that the production sounds clear and modern and nothing like you'd expect a 90s-era demo to sound like.

True but regardless of the update/remastering of the album's production, this is oozing of 90s atmosphere. Love it.

Cynic owns. Will definitely get this. It would be nice if they wrote music faster...

Meshuggah, High on Fire, and now this. I'm finally starting to enjoy this year. HARD.

Great review. Going to check this out ASAP!

Just so you're aware, the Portal in your review links to the death metal band.
Fixed. It's the way the site's link feature works. I'd have to put Portal (Cynic) in order to get it to link to the right band and that would look weird in the review.

Did you mean relying?
I most certainly did. Sometimes I get too reliant on Word's spell check.

Meshuggah, High on Fire, and now this. I'm finally starting to enjoy this year. HARD.
I went into that Meshuggah album with low expectations, but was very surprised.

Gonna give this a listen seeing as it's NOT their new crap. Good review Willie.

I went into that Meshuggah album with low expectations, but was very surprised.

I should have done that too. Really not that great up next to the rest of their discography.

I've always enjoyed the ethereal softer stuff better so I'll probably love this.

Whoa, just a re-master? At times this thing sounds so modern it's like it was re-recorded.

The sound quality on this is great you can hear all the instruments really, really well. When I heard they were finally going to release this I flipped for joy. They (Portal) should get back together and record an EP of songs. I think I would prefer that over a new CYNIC album right now.

If this album was released under the Cynic "name" i dont't think many metalheads would really care about Traced in Air imo. This re-release i think makes more sense with the bands current music direction, than it would make back in the middle 90's.
