To me, it's just more of the same. See, This Will Destroy You went a more ambient/drone route with their new LP.
Whereas these guys just stuck to their guns. There's nothing wrong with that at all, because they're good things to stick to. BUT, this is just more regurgitated post-rock in the vein of EITS's tired formula. It's the soft, climax, soft, ebow section, tremolo, full on feedback, fade-out formula... And yeah, as an avid fan of post-rock, it just is getting a little old.
Just my thoughts. I agree with this review. It's good, but not truly unique.
