"as skilled and mind bending as they are, have basically released the same album over and over again since 1995's Destroy Erase Improve"
This for the most part is the most accurate statement of Meshuggah.

Nah it's a really presumptuous statement. I can understand someone saying it's one of the best but to go out and say that it's the first truely engaging metal release of 2012 is ridiculous.

This review is pretty awful: so vague.

No way I can agree with anybody saying this is above a 3. They nailed the perfect balance on their last album but this....come on, nothing new to the table. I thought this band was about pushing their own envelop.

But there is nothing out anyways that's been worth my time and it's fucking March. Come on Neurosis!

You do one then, this is adequate for a dull album even though it favours it too highly.

ah god damn soundoff made me nearly fall out of my chair.

i didnt say it was the first true metal release, just the first engaging one. there's been a shit ton and a lot of enjoyable ones, but this is the first which i feel I'll still be talking about it come the end of the year.

Album is lots of fun, like any Meshuggah album should be.

i wished they would go heavier than obZen but that was already their heaviest album to date. so it was either go heavier than that or go back to the Nothing groove.

Obzen was a perfect balance of groove and heaviness. This feels stripped of their creativity.

This album has hazy production, less complex and a bit of a return to form.
This all I get from the review, seriously staff I mean come on.

Revenge, Profanatica, Fire In The Cave, etc.. ?

Yah, I didn't mean to say it was just the first true metal release, but there has actually been some really high quality metal albums to come out this year. I think the sheer fact that it's a bigger name act has everyone thinking this will still have great impact later in the year -- and I'm sure it will for some, but that's SUCH a bold statement idk.

Haven't heard, boring, need to hear still but seriously, been a bunch of bullshit or disappointments.
