This is actually my second favorite Green Day album and I'm pretty sure it's the second CD I ever bought (after blink-182's self titled). I don't understand this site's negative view on this, I think it's a pop-rock opera full of catchy songs that brought a once great band back from the dead and I don't see what's to hate about it. Sure it's not a classic or masterpiece, not even close, but it is a good fun album.

Even if this has been overplayed and I ended hating a few of the tracks (Wake Me Up, Boulevard especially), it has some great songs that their latest album doesn't have. For example, Whatsername, Jesus Of Suburbia, Holiday or Letterbomb are amazing. Still this isn't a 5.

'Then a blessing from Buddha came' - made me laugh

For a track by track review this half decent, not the best review but I'll pos anyway

Ain't even gonna read it, since first sentence is wrong. Low point in band's career is obviously Nimrod.

Also, album is strong but clearly not a 5.

why do you respect it if you don't like it
lol

why do i respect classical music if i hardly listen to it

why do i respect the beatles if i maybe hear one of their songs once a month

why do i respect some guitar players in mathy bands when i never listen to their music because its awful

respect =/= enjoyment all the time

this album did a lot for mainstream music in america

it rips melodies from 10 different places at least, the story is pretty gay, and like it or not this
is one of the biggest pleas to stay relevant and make money ever.

i feel ya
