Oh, well it's not an emotional album but the climax to The Apparition is pretty hair raising.

I enjoy it for the reason I enjoy most DM, the riffs and songwriting patterns, of which this album has in spades compared to 95% of tech.

"does this band sounds like necrophagist?"

Aesthetically? Kinda.

But yeah Cap, it just shits me when people dub these guys as meaningless wank when anybody who cares to listen can see their riffs are far more meticulous and their songwriting is infinitely more well thought out than the majority of TDM.

Nah, not true at all. They're too good at their instruments and couldn't string a listenable song together to save their lives. They smash parts together and somehow mask it with "Hey, look what I can do and look at how fast I can play this".

We're never going to agree on this Wiz lol

I mean just have a look at "Where Angels Go Demons Follow". Not only are riffs and motifs regularly reappearing but there is a pretty obvious build-climax-cooldown pattern, it's not just all bells and whistles. Also saying they're "too good at their instruments" is a little silly considering they identify with a genre where virtuosity is a prerequisite.

We can argue tomorrow if you like but I've got to now, cheers :D
