@Balls I've been lurking, but busy IRL.
IDK Eluveitie have been fairly commercial for a while, but this feels even more commercialized. The crisp production and catchiness didn't bother me on Slania because the quirky instruments and foreign languages made it unique enough, but now that they're singing in English it's starting to sound very generic. Bring back the ancient Gaulish lyrics! :p

"I seriously doubt there's a single person on this site who listens to folk metal because it's thought-or-emotion-provoking music to get lost into haha"
Primordial, falkenbach, SIG:AR:TYR, need i go on? haha

Yes, because Primordial really isn't music to get lost into, Falkenback is a great folk metal band but nothing atmospherically supreme and Sigartyr is boring.

Saw these guys on tuesday and I still feel pumped from the show. They played a tiny ass club but brought so much energy. Definitely recommend these guys as a live act

Not surprising. Very pissed that I found out about the tour the week AFTER they played Chicago.

I fully understand your criticisms of Eluveitie sounding repetitive over the course of a few albums. Myself having listened to Everything Remains (As It Never Was) and Slania, I find it difficult to find any difference instrumentally between them. Never the less, I will give Helvetios a listen.

A little bit repetitive, but still very, very good. Definitely stronger than the last two albums! The first in awhile which, imo, delivers what the band promises in theory.
