Somehow, Mr. Spoon, I knew you would love this.

Hopefully I am going to see 'Darkest Hour' live soon. I have begun listening to this album again and some of the tracks are truly immense.

i dont agree mostly on the guitar subject, kris norris is indeed a talented guitarist check out his dvd, listen to the solo in tranquil and tell me thats not like sex for the ears lol, oh and yea unearths drummer owns so idk what u mean

It may get a little repetitive but none the less this is a great album.

The drumming slightly holds these guys back. And, looking at the lyrics, John Henry is quite aways ahead of most people in the genre. It's refreshing.

yeah dude you dont know shit. first of all Kris Norris is very technical if you look him up on youtube or somethin you can see that. and second i dont know what the hell your talkin about with the drums. hes got some pretty kick ass fills and though he does do the "do cha" thing as you put it i really dont think he over uses it that much and hes probly one of the better drummers in the genre

I have to disagree "With A Thousand Words To Say But One", it is definately my favourite song of the album.
*listens to it*
Ok review, although as already posted, the lead player is pretty damn good (e.g, Tranquil)This Message Edited On 02.02.07

They're recording for the new album now, zomg!
And unlike most people I guess, this is actually my favorite out of all the DH albums I've heard. John's voice is much more dynamic on this one, the other records are just, well, kind of boring I suppose.
The melody has definitely made them stronger, not weakened them at all.

Kind of corny and repetitive. I do think they stand out though. A thousand words to say but one is definitely the best songs off the album, thats where I totally disagree with the review. Sound the surrender is close too.

bad drumming. Trivium, Carcass, In Flames, Unearth Uhh, Mike Justian kills his set...

Tranquil is a nice song.

Bad review, and every song on this album except the first one and sound the surrender bore the dying poop out of me
|

Yeah, I have to say this is a somewhat poor review. Some of your points are completly unrooted in anything, such as the bad drumming, seeing as he does plenty of everything you said he didn't.
Anyway, this album is pretty good.

I personally enjoy this more than the new album, they also put on a great show when I saw them, pre deliver us.

Yeah they're tight live and full of energy. I prefer this to Deliver Us too. Felt they went a bit overboard with the melody on that one.
|
| |
I like Deliver Us a little more, but they are both just alright.

ive seen them live and they were immense, but i thought a few support acts outplayed them. E.g dead to fall, sylosis
i agree that the drumming on this album wasn't too great and that they could have produced it better.

crappy review.

I've had this for a while but never rated it for some reason. Anyway I don't see what's so great about this album. This Will Outlive Us, sound the Surrender, and Tranquill are all fantastic but the rest isn't too great imo. there's nothing really bad, it's just kinda bland.
Oh, but I don't like Convalescence very much at all, have no idea why everybody seems to love that song,
