I think the whole point of the movie is that it is the complete opposite of fast-paced, modern 'action' movies. It definitely did not need more of that - I really loved the introspection. The run-time is long though, I'll give you that ^^
A solid 9/10 flick for me, my fave movie from last year. Sadly it did not fare well at the box office, I think the new Jumanji remake made more money...
