Is it just me or does most of what she's singing seem incomprehensible at first listen?

Edit: And what's with all the "weirdly attractive" comments?

Yeah when I first listened to this her voice really took me by surprise. I still don't know what she's singing about some of the time. She uses that whispering style a lot

Yeah I had to read the lyrics for oblivion to actually see what she was singing

Well, the visuals of the official videos don't really help the 'incomprehensible' singing.

But after relistening to some songs yesterday this doesn't seem as 'eh' as I first found it to be, Genesis is swell.

"Wasn't she of Quebecois decent anyway?"

no idea but unless it was her parents, that really means fuck all in a place like Canada. everyone's from somewhere, but she was born and raised in Vancouver.

she's ours

Don't let liberals/libertarians catch you say that. You'll get into a philisophical Mexican standoff.

actually it's quite worldly and inclusive when you think about it. I'd like to think a "liberal" could get behind a concept like that. Libertarians can keep smoking meth I don't currr what they say.

Anglophone quasi-unilingue, sa mère est mi-française, mi-italienne, son père est ukrainien et métis, avec de lointaines origines québécoises [2] .

Oh well, she still became an established musician in Montréal

And then you put your arms around me and we tumble to the ground and then you say. I think we're alone now.

I think it's amazing Tiffany is still 're-hashing her 80s mall brat chart hits and passing them off as uber cool "post internet" anthems

after being raised in East Van's thriving punk scene. Just because she decided to move out east after
high school doesn't change where she's from. Obviously her music is more "Montreal" than "Vancouver",
for a number of reasons, but mainly the scene is just better at cultivating that sort of creativity.
but she was born and raised in Vancouver (until she was almost 20, has only lived in Montreal for a
few years) and is an skinny, white, English speaking west-coast hippy. She's ours.

Try to realize that I'm 90% facetious when saying things like that. (lack of tonality on the internet and the following misinterpretations increasingly start to annoy me)

Why? Conversation loses it's worth when only a fraction of the content is understood as intended or is up to speculation and at the attempt at solving misunderstandings can result in even more discrepancies - talk about confirmation biases. Plus it can result in people being nonsensically stressed out and perhaps even more fatally wrong business communication.

Not to mention the prevalence of "miscommunication" between us. SO EXCUSE FOR ME BEING INTERESTED IN BEING CONSTRUCTIVE.
