She's a'ight. I never got the hate for her. She's enjoyable but not enough to make me keep wanting to
listen to her. I guess a lot of it is her image, which is a pretty cool one of retro classy indie girl
with pouty lips that and lens-effect videos that the Tumblr generation would appreciate.

There's this whole 60's nostalgia thing that I love about the title cut and Video Games. I'm a sucker for those strings and the sweeping emotion.
As for the SNL appearance, she just came off as really nervous. I'm probably one of the few people who don't care how an artist sounds live. I don't care if artists use studio trickery, I don't give a shit about their image, and I don't care how pretty she is. I only care about how the music sounds when I hear it. Period.
If you look at Born To Die as anything but a really decent pop album, then you are only trying to fool yourself.

if you strip everything away, its 4 perfect songs in the beginning followed by 8 pieces of repetitive shit that proves that she has run out of ideas
but all this controversy around intrigues me her and i can actually listen to this album enjoyably front to back for some reason
shes just another one of those katy perry/britney spears molds, no real talent but they're just... there

I just watched her SNL performance. Not bad. Same average poppy bullshit as most. Only thing that bothered me a lot was the way she moved around like she had a stick in her ass and sang "wit" instead of "with." Also, Nacy Sinatra was way hotter in her day.
