It took forever for me to get into this album. I never thought I would consider it a masterpiece like I do right now

This was the first Opeth album I bought and remains my second favorite album by Opeth, right under Still Life. Every song is amazing! I was disappointed that they didn't play any songs off this album when I saw them live; however, they did play Godhead's Lament, so I was pleased.

I can't get Opeth stuff anywhere...you'd think with their albums being the best rated on this entire site that someone would have a t-shirt or something =

completely agree about Patterns in the Ivy being longer. although the II version was a great bonus track, the original could have been a minute or two longer and still been great!

A breathing canvas of overwhelming beauty, Opeth's Blackwater Park is one of the biggest landmarks in the music of the 2000's... and rightfully so.
