Let's be honest here, skrillex is just getting more and more bland by the second, scary monsters was a hit, but now his music is just getting old

Dubstep gives me hope that I may one day make music without having to learn to play an instrument.

"Dubstep gives me hope that I may one day make music without having to learn to play an instrument."
He was in a ""real'" band before this though so he would still have one up on you, even though his Skrillex era is kind of shit.
lol I love making songs of the dub/techno/electronic variety. Plus I can play real guitar bass piano and do screaming vocals so I can use and record those when making that specific type of music.

Somebody told me that Skrillex right now hates that people remember him that he was the vocalist of FFTL before he got that awful haircut and before he released his dubstep project,I don't know if this is true but some people here could know a little bit more about it.
Anyways that was just something curious that I know and I just want to satisfy my curiosity

he probably hates being reminded that it's the only reason he ever got his foot in the door of this business.

lol I remember when Scary Monsters & Nice Sprites was shown on this site on a blog post or something and people loved it for the most part.
|
| |
a lot of sites did, and so did a lot of EDM fans
but then
the sound became popular and spawned a lot of copycats so it became garbage.

i actually like 2 songs off of Scary Monsters & Nice Sprites

I think it was a pretty good EP overall. Not breaking down any walls or anything or anything mindblowingly new (he was using the really heavily oscillated bass from Rusko and that kind of bass was around for a while but he utilized it okay) but it was well-produced, relatively creative and just nice electro-house/dubstep.

and With Your Friends is awesome. Skrillex is still great at cutting/manipulating vocals.
|

You like Mimosa? His last LP and EP are coming more towards Skrillexs style kind of, but his stuff is a lot better and he evolves from disc to disc.

from first to last > this shit.

Not a terrible album, but 'The Devil's Den' surprisingly sucked!

Giving him credit for being a 'musician' in FFTL is just silly.
I was in a shitty emo band crying about stupid shit when I was sixteen too.
Like I said, Sonny Moore gives me hope that I can be a talentless hack and reap the benefits of e-tarded high school kids someday. Lady GaGa and Soulja Boy give similar inspiration.
