@ Acanthus: Yeah let's light it up like a Christmas tree, or a Skrillexmas tree.

I think it will be very interesting to see where the likes of Skrillex and co will be in, say 2 years. Compared to 6 months ago where you couldn't go anywhere without hearing their names, a casual glance at Srillex's last.fmm page shows a lot of people are just really getting sick and tired of these ultra-filthy bass drops to the point where (and this is so awesome to see) people lining up with comments along the likes of "you guys need to check this out: *cue link to DMZ ganja-puffing bass line*". Sure he's still a huge entity but people really seem to be getting wise to Sonny's lack of doing anything different. But what do you expect from someone who quite literally wandered into this genre without a real clue about mixing and sound production

I figured that might eventually happen, can't say he doesn't deserve it.

I want to know whether he'll turn to focusing on his electro bits, or try to stay with the trends.

dubstep is nu metal... it's an awesome little tumor growing out of other genres, and its insanely cool, but it's time in the mainstream will be limited. there's your flash in the pan: skrillex is limp bizkit* ... then there's your enduring champion (maybe Burial is Deftones)... James Blake is probably someone i never listened to like Spineshank...

*if anybody knows the little bit of trivia that makes the limp/skrillex comparison pretty awesome, i'll give you a cookie
