remember when they said "[Take Care] feels different than anything else we've done before"?

I think it's massively different to their previous works. The instruments and production are a lot more varied, whereas the guitar melodies are much thinner and more repetitive. The song structures are less winding and narrative than their last two albums.

Great review, but this is not EitS's best album since The Earth... All Of a Sudden I Miss Everyone is waaay better than this.

Haters gon' hate, I suppose. Album is fantastic. In other news, I'm going to rip some fine green and listen to this in celebration of this comments' number.

sad thing is, I will continue to listen to EITS even though they basically do the same thing every album.

I mean, I like this, but I just need something a bit more unique from my post-rock now. I think most people express their gripe with OMG STALENESS wrongly by suggesting it's a lack of progression. Fact is that a lot of people fall in love with the first few post-rock records they hear (within reason!) and then they find what they hear after that to be less-than-inspiring. There are clearly exceptions to this rule and those are the records that get discussed most - ( ) for example, Godspeed!'s stuff, Hymn last year, DMST... but this just doesn't have enough character to remain at the forefront of most people's minds, which doesn't make it bad in any sense, it just makes it feel like "post-rock" rather than "EITS".

"but this just doesn't have enough character to remain at the forefront of most people's minds"
My one biggest problem with it was right when it was over, I pretty much forgot about it.

But a sputnik staff member not ever hearing a Godspeed album is just as weird as the statement I quoted.

I know he's heard Godspeed......... It's just a way to say that I disagree with him. He also gave a 2 to two Godspeed albums, which I found kinda strange.
